Lent 2019

Dear Friend of St. Ann,

Our winter weather roller coaster ride continues even as we move more deeply and more fervently into our Lenten season.
Each of us may have focused on one or two particular and regular prayer experiences to share along with a sacrifice
designed to help us think less about ourselves and more about God and one another.  May the graces of Lent draw us
ever more deeply into the divine love revealed to us in the sufferings and death of Jesus.

We are able to think lovingly of His death because we see and understand that moment through the prism of the Resurrection.
Yes, we are Easter people.  We rejoice in the salvation won for us by the Cross because new life is born in the morning of
Easter.  This central feast and our 40 daylong celebration of Easter becomes a special time of prayer.  We pray in thanksgiving
and we pray in earnest for new life in sickness and in troublesome circumstances of life for ourselves, our families, our friends
and our nation.

I invite you to unite yourselves with us here at St. Ann’s in praising God in this time of prayer.  You may do so by filling out
the enclosed intention slip and returning it to me with your Easter donation to St. Ann’s.  You and your intentions will be
remembered in a novena of Easter Masses from Easter Sunday, April 21 through Monday, April 29.

I am deeply grateful for your past generosity to St. Ann’s.  We truly depend upon you financially to keep St. Ann’s
a special place of faith, devotion and new life.  Thank you once again for your kindness and for joining us in Easter prayer.

Through the intercession of St. Ann, may God bless you in every way.

In Christ’s Passion,

V. Rev. Richard Burke, C.P.
Rector
